About CBS

 

Who We Are

The Center for Business Solutions is an organization within San Francisco State University's College of Business. The organization is made up of SF State faculty, Business Management Leaders, an Advisory Board and Student Administrators.

What We Do

The goal of CBS is to develop a self-sustaining practice/program focused on guiding business students through internships that build knowledge, experience and confidence in the intern while delivering demonstrable value to the clients. We will target areas of business that offer career-building experiences in Bay Area based businesses and public institutions.

Our Focus - Student Development

SF StateFaculty

SF State faculty develope a curriculum that satisfies the areas targeted internship opportunites and create a work like environment surrounding the course work in preparing the students to take on projects. Faculty leadership is provided by a professor in each of the internship diciplines.

Business Management Leaders (BMLs)

Project oversight and intern training by Mentors, also known as BML's recruited and staffed by CBS, whose years of experience in business reduce the time and energy load usually placed on internal project sponsors.

Advisory Board Members

Advisory Board Members include business managers from industry as well as SF State faculty and BMLs. The primary role of the Advisory Board is to support the development of the CBS Program through guidance of areas for student involvement with clients, recruiting BMLs and suggesting curriculum improvements.
